3 Mistakes about being found

Hello beautiful Soul,

Have you heard this before — build it and they will come! — there’s a lot of truth in that statement AND there’s soooo much more to it than that.

It’s not always easy or simple these days. The Internet makes everything it seems, at our fingertips. BUT unless you know exactly what to do or how to do it — getting yourself out there to be seen, that is — it can be overwhelming.

That’s how I felt when I first started in September 2010. I had no idea where to start, what to say or how to even begin creating, much less maintaining an online presence.

Sure I had a website and had already started building an email list. Then what ..

Well, that brings us to 3 mistakes about being found, which cost you time, energy and income:

Mistake #1: Assuming that just because you’re on Social Media, people are going to start liking, commenting and sharing your posts (images, content)

For three months, after I created and published my first Facebook Fan Page, and posting tips, really good tips every day, there was soooo much SILENCE it was deafening. It was discouraging, frustrating and I felt like a complete an utter failure.

Mistake #2: Assuming that just because you’re known or have built a following in your local area that it will immediately transfer to the Internet.

Each time you start something ‘new’ like adding a new service, class or program, you’re starting at ground zero. After a time, as people get to know, like and trust you more, it’s like they (potential clients and customers) can’t get enough of what you offer because they KNOW who you are and that you are amazing at what you do to help others.

It’s also creating a lot of ‘noise’ and ‘confusion’ about whom to turn and where to find just the right and perfect ‘fit’ for you and what you want help with.
